Watermelon Daydream
I painted this the other day to distract me from Melbourne's coldest day this year and the fact that my wisdom teeth were causing me trouble.
I like it a lot because it reminds me of my old apartment in Brisbane and warm summer rain.

June / July
- I'm on break from university so I went home to northern New South Wales to visit my family. Its so much warmer up there and there was lots of wildlife (including this cute koala). It was really nice to be around nature and my cat and dog.
- It's been really cold in Melbourne and I've been enjoying warm porridge for breakfast. My favourite way to have it is with honey mixed in and stewed apples, currants and cinnamon on top.
- I've had lots of time to draw in my sketchbook. It's good to use a sketchbook because theres no pressure to have a finished perfected artwork.
- I made my self a shopping bag out of lovely yellow fabric.
- It was cold and horrible and rainy today so I made some cupcakes.
- I made myself some new brooches to decorate my backpack.
- Being home made me miss having nature around me so I bought some new house plants. These are the latest additions. My favourite is the lavender because it reminds me of home.
- I saw Broken Circle Breakdown at the cinema and it was really good. It was so so sad but the music was amazing. My favourite song was this one.
- I've been making art for myself and other people, which I will post here soon.
-I've been enjoying The Bletchley Circle, on iview.
- This song is really lovely. It's a bit country but its nice to think of the beauty in Australian nature when theres so much ugliness happening in politics right now.

Lazy Saturday
I had a really good day yesterday. It was cold and rainy and cosy so I had a relaxing (and productive) home day. I made yummy jam drops, designed some stickers (more on that in a few days or so), experimented with gouache some more and drank a whole pot of tea (Whoops! haha).
I painted my cat Pumpkin (who is pure black so gouache is good for painting him because I could do the details in white). I had to leave him at my parent's house when I moved interstate because my Melbourne apartment doesn't allow pets, and I miss him a lot.
I've been really stressed out and busy lately so it was really nice and beneficial to have a day to myself where I didn't do anything for other people.
I hope your all having a lovely weekend too.

Suitcase Rummage, Woodland Christmas Tags and Forest Cat
Hello everyone! I'm going to selling a bunch of stuff at the suitcase rummage this sunday for real cheap (under $25) including:
- original artworks (the ones pictured here)
- prints
- my new zine
- cards
- brooches
- necklaces
- Lavander cats
It's at Reddacliffe Place (at the top of Queen Street mall) and goes from 12pm - 4pm. If you live in Brisbane you should come along and say hello (or buy some stuff ha ha)
I've also designed a couple of christmas tags (which I've been wanting to do since last year but never got around to doing until now) which are available as a printable pdf in my shop if you wanted to buy them.
As you can see in my new paintings I've recently started working with a new bolder/earthier colour pallet. I quite like how they turned out (especially the girl with the sketch book) Also, this paintings are much smaller than I'm used to, only A5! I quite like working in this smaller size though.
Oh! Also I'm now on instagram and twitter (both are @gracetaylor art) if you would like to follow me :)

Sunday Sketches
A few pages from my sketch book, as well as a few illustrations for something new I'm making for my shop :)
I really like the girl in the first picture, I'm thinking of making her into a finished artwork.

I drew this cat (I've named her 'Jenny') for The Paper Girl Project. It's a super cool community project where creative people can donate their work, and it is exhibited in a gallery, and then later it's all rolled up and people ride around on bikes and hand out the rolls to random passers-by!

Sunday Sketches
Just a few pages from my sketchbook. I don't draw in my sketchbook much and I'd like to start doing it a lot more often.
